Minutes of the General Body meeting, Nov. 19, 2000
The main purpose of the General Body meeting was to provide a networking opportunity to everyone and to solicit advice about future events. The meeting was well attended and the audience participated enthusiastically in a panel discussion.
1. Our President, Dwarika A. presented the agenda for the meeting. Prem S. presented the treasurer's report and Krishna S. spoke about recent updates to the website iitsine.org. The IIT VPs spoke about the IIT alumni get-togethers in the last year. Kandy R. spoke about the IITM alumni reception for their director, Vivek S. recapitulated the welcome party for IIT students.
2. Dwarika A. summarized last year's IITSINE's events and briefly outlined the plans for future events.
3. Vivek S. and Narender C. led the panel discussion to obtain feedback from the audience about the nature and frequency of our programs. The attendees participated enthusiastically in a lively discussion which included topics like the choice of speakers and venues for events and incentives for new members to join IITSINE.
4. Ranjani S. and Anoop K. spoke about a proposal to provide awards to IITians to work on Bachelor's projects that would help alleviate social problems in India.
