2005

• IITSINE's Annual Winter Social  held on  Saturday, March 5, 2005 was a great networking event. 

2004

• "Think Global…Act Local: An inspiring talk by a great entrepreneur" by Mr. Arjun Malhotra, Chairman & CEO of Headstrong" on Tuesday, October 12, 2004.

• The IIT-SINE  picnic event on August 7th, 2004, was a sold-out event.

• The IIT-SINE seminar event  on  April 25, 2004 featured two speakers:  "Building a Successful Hi-Tech Company - Challenges, Setbacks, Rewards and Excitements" by Anil Singhal, President, CEO and Co-founder, NetScout Systems   and  "Optical Technologies for Homeland Security" Dr. Ashok Sood, Co-founder, Magnolia Optical Technologies.

• IIT-SINE's  holiday party on February 20, 2004 at the Lexington Lodge of Elks, was a sold-out event with about 150 attendees !!

2003

• IIT-SINE held a seminar by two distinguished speakers Mr. Mukhtesh (Micky) Pant and Prof, Bahaa Saleh on October 19, 2003.  (Click here for more details)   The General Body Meeting and 2004 - 2005 Executive Committee elections was also held on the same day. 
• The annual IIT-SINE picnic was held on the banks of Charles River on September 6, 2003. Click here for more details
• IIT-SINE & IIT KGP-New England Network organized a reception to meet the IIT-KGP Dean of Alumni Affairs on June 15.  
• Mardi Gras 2003 on May 17th was organized by the IIT-M alumni in New England .Click here for details  
• The annual IIT-SINE after-New-year's party held on Feb 22, 2003 was a gala event.

2002

• A panel discussion 'Beyond IIT ....The Next Step', and the annual IIT-SINE general body meeting were held on Saturday, November 16, 2002. The Diwali get-together on Nov 26 was a gala event. 
• The IIT-SINE's Annual Summer Picnic on August 25 at Cochituate State Park, Natick and the IITM alumni picnic at Artesani park were crowd pullers.
• A Gala Event sponsored by the Boston Chapter of IITB-HF and IIT-SINE was held on Saturday, May 25 at MIT, Cambridge.
• The IIT-SINE event on  May 10, 2002  that included presentations by  Dr. Desh Deshpande,  President and CEO,  Sycamore  Networks   and   Dr. Dev Gupta, President and CEO, Narad Networks, was a grand success 
• IIT-SINE's 2002 New Year's Party held on February 15, 2002 at the Marriott Burlington was a big success with over 100 attendees. Everybody enjoyed the  performance of the music group!
• The new IIT-SINE executive committee was elected for a two year term at the IIT-SINE general body meeting on November 4, 2001. In addition, we awarded the position of President Emeritus to our Founding President, Mr. Puran Dang. We also formally incorporated IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee into our Charter. 
• The Agarwal IIT-SINE Award 2001 for the best technical paper was presented to Prashant Rajurkar and Amit Gupta, final year chemical engineering students at IIT Bombay. The paper is available for viewing in pdf or word format. Click here to learn more about the Agarwal IIT-SINE Awards.

2001

• The Diwali Function on Nov. 18, 2001 organized by the I.I.T. (Roorkee) Alumni was well attended. 
• The IIT SINE General Body Meeting and Elections were held on November 4, 2001.In addition, we awarded the position of President Emeritus to our Founding President, Mr. Puran Dang. We also formally incorporated IIT Guwahati and IIT Roorkee into our Charter.
• We had a nice Fall Networking event on September 22, 2001 at MIT. More than 10 recent (year 2001) graduates attended the event and now our database has at least one graduate from IIT at Guwahati. The presentations from Profs. Amar Gupta and Vijay Kumar were well received.
• IIT SINE has instituted awards to motivate IIT students to work towards alleviating social problems in India: AGARWAL IITSINE AWARDS 2002 : CALL FOR PAPERS .   We welcome you to participate in discussions on issues pertaining to the Agarwal IIT SINE Awards and send us your feedback.
• The annual picnic held on Sunday, August 26 at Cochituate State Park, Natick was a huge success. The weather was perfect and we had over 100 people who attended the event.  IIT SINE provided chhole, samosas, dhoklas, soft drinks,chips, corn-on-the-cob, watermelon and paper products.
• A technical seminar session on June 16 at UMASS Lowell was held in the honor and memory of Prof. Sukant Tripathy. Excerpts from   presentations by the invited speakers at this event will be posted soon..
• Our first seminar event on April 6  included 2 seminars:  "Crystals: Use Them for Missile Defense and Still be Girl's Best Friend" by Dr. Chandra P. Khattak   and "The Patent Road to Riches" by Dr. Kaplesh Kumar Esq. After dinner there was a book signing event: "India Unbound" by Mr. Gurcharan Das. • The 'New Millennium Celebration'  held on February 9, 2001 for IIT-SINE members attracted more than 100 attendees! 

2000

• The General body meeting on Nov. 19 was well attended. Here are some notes from the meeting.
• The  gala brunch sponsored by the Boston Chapter of IITB-AA on October 14 was enjoyable. Thanks for coming!
• The welcome event on September 23, for recent IIT graduates coming to the Boston/New England area was a huge success. Click here for pictures!
• Our annual picnic at Cochituate State Park on Sunday, August 27 was an enjoyable event for all who attended! 
• Over 100 people attended the IITM alumni meeting when IITM director visited Boston in June 2000.
• The seminars 'Commercialization of new technologies' and 'The Indian Information Technology Miracle: Boom or Bubble?' in March were very well attended.
• The new year's party was celebrated on Jan. 8, 2000.

1999

• A reception was held on August 15, 1999 in honor of the visiting Dr. K. A. Padmanabhan, Director of IIT Kanpur, Mr. Narayana Murthy, Chairman & CEO of Infosys, Mr. Hari Bhatia, Chairman of Board of Governors of IIT Kanpur and Mr. Ashok Kamal, President of IIT Kanpur Alumni Association.
• The Annual picnic held on July 18, 1999 at the Cochituate State Park in Wayland, Mass. was very successful, thanks to everybody who came and enjoyed the delicious food, volleyball, kite-flying and cricket.
• A reception was held on July 2, in honor of the Director of IIT Kharagpur, Prof. Ghosh's visit to Boston.
• IIT Bombay alumni organized the kick off event of the IITB-Heritage Fund on June 19, 1999 at the Bangalore Club in Winchester.
• A meeting of IIT Delhi Alumni was organized on June 13 with the visiting Dean of Alumni and International Affairs from IIT Delhi, Prof. Misra.  For highlights of the meeting and the latest from IITD, click here !
• The 1999 Spring Function as held on May 7, 1999 at Wyndham hotel, Burlington, with Jeffrey S. Bennett, Vice President of Electronic Commerce, Lycos Network as the keynote speaker.
• IIT Kanpur Alumni Reunion has held on March 20, 1999.
• The annual meeting along with the New Year Party was held on January 9, 1999 at Bangalore Club in Winchester. About 60 people attended the very informal lively get-together.

1998

• IITSINE was placed on the World Wide Web at www.iitsine.org in December 1998.
• Since October 1998, your executive committee has been meeting regularly on the third Sunday of each month.
• About 50 people attended the September 1998 Annual Picnic held at the Cochituate Park to enjoy the mouth watering Chhole, Pav-Bhaji and "dhaba" style  hot tea.
• A talk by Mr. Ashok Trivedi , Chairman of Mastech Corporation was organized in April 1998.

Highlights of the IIT-SINE events (1995-1997)

• IIT SINE Incorporated with the generous help from attorney Howard E. Hensleigh and CPA Narain Bhatia.
• Started SineWaves newsletters that are mailed periodically to members.
• Active participation with Indian organizations in the New England area.
• A number of seminars were organized: Mr. Sam Pitroda , India’s telecommunication Guru, recalled enthralled the audience at the IITSINE Spring event in April 1996. Mr. Ravi Akhoury, CEO of Wall street firm McKay Shields, spoke about investments and the stock market, during the annual meeting in November 1996. Business opportunities and investment seminar with Consul General Bhasin , IRIS India Fund and View Group, a venture capital firm.
• The executive committee had meetings to nurture beneficial relationships for IITSINE : They met with principals of Draper International on support for start-ups and on-going business ventures of IITians. A meeting was held with Dr. D.K. Sharma, Administrator of the US Dept. of Transportation.
• Presentations were made by Directors of IITD and IITB during their US visit.
• 1996 and 1997 Annual Picnics were held at the Cochituate Park.
